May 24, 2008 – 7:34 amTwo very important events will happen in the next few weeks for my wife Kelly and I. Our oldest daughter (Nycke) will graduate from college with her associates degree, and our youngest (Corey) will graduate high school. Nycke will transfer to a local university to continue her studies, Corey will join his middle sister (Meg) at the (same) community college for classes beginning this fall.
What’s weird is to see so many other couples our age with kids in elementary or middle school. Kelly and I wanted to be young when we became grandparents, so we began our family shortly after getting married. Now that all three kids are adults, Kelly and I will celebrate our 24th anniversary in July, make up for the “us” time we postponed and look forward to being grandparents someday.
