Unanswered Prayers

Yet again, tragedy strikes a college campus. Senseless violence on unsuspecting (and undeserving) victims by a coward who chooses a defenseless target. This time it was Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, and it hit close to home in three ways:

1. A colleague received a call from his son while we were in a meeting, he was in the next room when the shooting began.
2. One of the kids that was injured graduated high school with my daughter.
3. NIU was the school my daughter planned to attend. The reason she didn’t, her high school never sent out her transcripts - and she was going to be the salutatorian.

At the time, it was one more reason in an already long list of why we moved from that school district.

Today, an unanswered prayer.
